Democrats Release Draft of 2024 Party Platform
By Lisa Kashinsky and Elena Schneider
Washington, D.C. -
Today, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) released a draft of the 2024 Democratic Party Platform. Every four years, Democrats from across the country join together to craft the party's platform, a document that outlines the party's values and priorities.
The Democratic Party writes and adopts a new party platform at each Democratic National Convention. The 2024 platform will be finalized at the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15-18, 2024.
The draft platform includes a wide range of progressive policies, including:
- Expanding access to affordable healthcare
- Investing in clean energy and infrastructure
- Protecting the rights of women, minorities, and LGBTQ+ people
- Ensuring that every child has access to quality education
- Raising the minimum wage and strengthening unions
The DNC encourages all Democrats to review the draft platform and provide feedback. The feedback period will close on March 31, 2024.
