In a thrilling conclusion to the 2023 Men's College World Series, LSU bounced back in Game 3 to secure its seventh national title with an emphatic 18-4 victory over Florida. The Tigers' offensive explosion, coming just one day after their worst defensive performance in College World Series history, proved too much for the Gators to handle.

LSU's offense came out firing in Game 3, scoring 10 runs in the first inning alone. Cade Doughty led the charge with a two-run homer, while Dylan Crews, Paul Skenes, and Jack Merrifield also homered in the game. Florida fought back to tie the game at 10-10 in the fourth inning, but LSU would not be denied.

The Tigers added two more runs in the fifth inning and pulled away for good with a six-run seventh inning. Eric Reyzelman, who had been struggling at the plate throughout the series, delivered the knockout blow with a two-run double. LSU's pitching staff, led by starter Jacob Hasty, allowed just one Florida batter to reach base after the fourth inning.

With the victory, LSU captures its first national title since 2009. The Tigers' seven championships tie them with Florida for the second-most in NCAA history, behind only Southern California's 12.

For Florida, the loss marks a disappointing end to a season that saw them reach the College World Series for the first time since 2018. The Gators' offense, which had been potent throughout the tournament, was unable to keep pace with LSU's relentless attack.

As LSU celebrates its seventh national title, the 2023 Men's College World Series will forever be remembered for its dramatic Game 3 finish. The Tigers' historic offensive performance and unwavering resilience will serve as a lasting legacy in the annals of college baseball.
